The Experience
Introduction
Zadra is a 2019 RMC Ibrox hybrid coaster at Energylandia. Just a year after opening one of the best coasters in Europe, Energylandia decided to open one of the best coasters in the world. While the addition of this coaster (and of anything at Energylandia really) can be confusing, we're eternally grateful for it as Zadra is an absolute masterpiece and a must-ride for anyone coming to Poland. This was our very first coaster by RMC (starting out strong), and we understood every part of the hype, after our very first ride.
Greatness - Made in Małopolska
There is probably no better way to put your name on the map regarding enthusiasts and thrill-seekers alike, than to construct a new hybrid coaster from Rocky Mountain Constructions. This model type is often seen as the "creme de la creme" of coasters and what made this one even more interesting is the fact that it was only the second every hyper-hybrid coaster (after Steel Vengeance the year before) and also the very first one to be built from the ground up. Whatever they did, and how they did it, the result was one of the greatest coasters on earth.
An Alan Schilke Special
Zadra offers a relentless and very forceful ride. From the moment you drop off the vertical 200+ ft drop and till you get - literally - slammed into the final breaks, Zadra doesn't let up for a moment. Between the crazy inversions, strong whip, powerful airtime moments and the surprisingly strong positive G's , Zadra has something for everyone, as long as you like thrills and intensity. While most RMC coasters usually bring a strong focus on pace and airtime, Zadra is a more even and well-balanced coaster, bringing blistering pace and the usual great stall while sacrificing some of the airtime to introduce some positives and even more laterals into the layout. It's a masterful creation, resulting in one of the best ride experiences on the planet and we can't stress enough just how good this coaster is.
Goggles & Shinguards
For all of the love and hype the coaster of RMC gets, the Ibrox trains are some of the more scrutinized, due to their relatively small stature and inclusion of shinguards. It's true that these are some of the more restrictive trains, being less accommodating to both larger and taller riders, and mix this with the inclusion of safety-goggles when riding front-row, you definitely feel very "secure" when riding Zadra. While these are not the most comfortable trains out there, we personally didn't find it to really hurt the ride experience but we could see how they could cause discomfort to some people. We actually liked the safety goggles as well, as they didn't slow down the dispatch times and they made the ride feel like an out of control ride in a stunt plane, all while keeping your eyes safe.
Conclusion
To put it simple - Zadra is one of the greatest coasters on earth, often being listed as a top 5 coaster on many global coaster lists, and we concur, this coaster is simply awesome. From the fun pre-lift section and amazing first drop, to the crazy inversions, laterals, whip and airtime moments, Zadra is a magnificent coaster of blistering pace and very strong forces, and we quite simply couldn't get enough.
