The Experience
Introduction
Formuła is a 2016 Vekoma Space Warp at Energylandia. Despite not technically being the first "New Age Vekoma thrill coaster" it's often given that credit as it was the first coaster that really introduced people to "The New Vekoma". More than that, it also marked a big step-up for Energylandia and their coaster line-up when they got Formuła just two years after the parks opening.

A lot of older coasters from Vekoma (namely their Boomerangs and SLC's) doesn't have the best reputation and the main criticism often revolves around them being rough and uncomfortable. You may therefore be surprised when you first ride Formuła and find out just how smooth and comfortable it is and while the most hardcore Vekoma purists might find it to be missing bite, the majority of people are going to find this a vast improvement over a large portion of Vekoma's older portfolio.
Small Quality Package
Formuła is a small thrill coaster with less than 2000ft of track, 81ft in height and not even 50 mph. However, that doesn't stop it from delivering a quality ride experience that is both smooth and decently forceful, all on a fairly small and compact footprint. The launch is solid and the 3 inversions offers a mixture of float and whip. The ride is fast paced and also has several smaller pops of airtime. The big Sidewinder and one small airtime hill which offers decently strong airtime, are probably the highlests but the best thing about this coaster is how smooth and re-rideable it is.
The Sum of its Parts
Formuła is very much the sums of its parts as in it shines in the spots it but its also quite limited in what it can do, given its raw stats.It definitely does lack some power in terms of the strength of forces as it simply doesn't have the length or speed required to bring it to the next level, but it's a short and fun layout with plenty of different kinds of forces, all wrapped in an extremely comfortable ride experience.
Conclusion
Overall, while Formuła might not have the raw stats to deliver a true knockout experience, it's smooth tracking, seamless transitions and decently forceful inversions and airtime, means that this is a quality package that many smaller to moderate sized themeparks should invest in and we're honestly quite surprised that we haven't seen more of these in the western part of the world as they really are pure fun.
