Introduction
We visited Toverland on July 18, 2025, for what we thought was a simple warm-up park on a longer coaster trip. Instead, it turned out to be the biggest surprise of the trip. Toverland, where all roads lead to Troy, earned its reputation as a rock-solid theme park, home to two absolute powerhouses in Fēnix and Troy. Combine that with smooth operations and a complete lack of major weaknesses, and you get a park that feels tight, polished, and full of charm. This is a park we would absolutely love to return to.
Toverland Review
Best Coaster

We arrived at our first-ever GCI with some expectations but without really knowing what kind of ride it would be. Troy absolutely shattered them. This wooden beast wastes no time, diving straight into a relentless layout packed with airtime, blistering speed, and great intensity from start to finish. It's raw, crazy, and completely unapologetic in what it does. The GCI experience is vastly different from what other manufacturers offer and you can now consider us massive fans of the GCI wooden twisters!. While Troy stops just short of a perfect 10 due to a lack of refinement, it easily earns a rock-solid 9 and firmly anchors the entire park.
Coaster Depth

Without Troy, Toverland’s coaster lineup becomes significantly less exciting, though Fēnix is a very strong B&M wing coaster and definitely a highlight at the park. The problem is simply that Toverland overall lacks in the amount of coasters they have at their park, resulting in a pretty massive drop-off down to the park's admittedly fun family spinner, Dwervelwind. Booster Bike is an okay family-thrill coaster with a good launch but a very simple layout and while Toos-Express is pretty cool for a smaller family coaster with its fun drop and indoor setting, the depth of the lineup disappears very quickly after the top two rides. They simply need more coasters to become truly competitive against other international parks. Until then, we know exactly where we're going to be spending our time at Toverland.
Water Rides

As for water rides, Toverland offers a very good log flume in Expedition Zork which splits its time between indoor and outdoor sections, featuring a layout that utilizes both strong theming and a tilted turntable for extra thrills. Unfortunately, the rapids ride is just okay and feels far closer to a scenic lazy river than the kind of thrilling rapids we prefer. It is undeniably pretty, but leaving a rapids ride as dry as when we boarded is a definite negative for us.
Overall, Toverland does decently well here but they would benefit heavily from a third water ride, specifically one that focuses on thrills and getting riders wet.

Flatrides And Darkrides

Outside of coasters and water rides, Toverland offers a nice blend of theme park classics, such as a pirate ship and teacups, but they also have a few more unique attractions like Maximus' Blitz Bahn and the big Dragonwatch tower ride. They also sport a Gerstlauer Sky Roller and a classic themed boat ride, 'Merlin's Quest'.
Overall, Toverland does a good job of covering the basics while offering a few standout family rides. However, they really lack in both the thrill and dark ride departments. The Sky Roller is the closest thing you get to a thrill flat ride, and Merlin's Quest is the closest to a proper dark ride, but neither quite manages to fill the shoes of the real deal. Therefore, adding one of these types of attractions would really help elevate Toverland's lineup to the next level.

Park Appearance

Toverland is an immensely beautiful park, filled with lush greenery and pleasant views that make it easy to disconnect from everything outside the gates. The immersion is only briefly interrupted by what we have affectionately labeled "Old Toverland", the two massive concrete halls that house the park’s original indoor attractions. What they lack on the outside, they more than make up for within. Both halls are impressively themed and manage to blend indoor attractions with outdoor rides in a way that feels natural rather than forced. It is a unique look, and one that works surprisingly well. Toverland leans heavily into fantasy theming, and while it could use some more variation, many of the areas (especially the newest ones) look incredible and sell the fantasy really well. Overall, Toverland is a visually stunning park.
Park Practicality
6.5We found ourselves relying heavily on the park app, as the layout remains fairly confusing and unintuitive, likely due to years of expansion. Thankfully, a network of small shortcuts makes navigating much easier once you discover them. After a while, we were crisscrossing the park between Fēnix and Troy with increasing confidence. Strangely, no matter which route we took, we always seemed to end up at Troy, and honestly, that felt more like a feature than a flaw.
Food

As tradition dictates, we went straight for a burger, and Toverland did not disappoint. A soft brioche bun paired with a juicy patty, crisp bacon, and parmesan flakes made for a surprisingly strong meal. Adding a side of well-tasting loaded fries into the equation and we land at a very respectable score. The rating is only held back slightly by the somewhat limited variety across the park when compared to giants like Europa-Park or food-focused parks like Tivoli Gardens, but overall, the food we got at Toverland was very good.
Snacks And Drinks

Arriving on a hot July day, our first stop was the waterside bar near the show arena, and holy Gerstlauer, did it deliver. These were without question the most refreshing, thirst-quenching, and genuinely delicious mocktails we have ever had in a theme park. If you find yourself here, skipping these would be like going to DisneySea and ignoring the Little Green Alien mochi. Trust us, this is a game-changer. The remaining variety of snacks was, just like food, somewhat limited to standard theme park fare, but some classic soft serve ice cream alongside those god-sent drinks, and we were more than satisfied.
Ride Operations
7.5There were no major ride closures during our visit, with solid dispatches and multi-train operations across the board. It is hard not to score the park well here. That said, as always, we would like to see how they perform under truly heavy crowds before pushing the score into the higher 8s and 9s. Some stacking was observed on Troy in particular, leaving us comfortable with a 7.5.
Park Management
8.5Toverland is a very well-run park, staffed by friendly and outgoing employees who make it easy to focus on enjoying the day rather than logistics. The merchandise selection is also strong, something we never take for granted. Phantasialand, if you are reading this, please take notes. Everything about the park suggests a genuine care for the guest experience, and it caps off what was an excellent and memorable visit.
